Becki Newton was born on July 4, 1978 in New Haven, Connecticut. Initially, she performed musicals and plays in local theaters. Eventually, she landed television commercials. Later, she was given the opportunity to write and host a celebrity interview show called Movie Junky. Her other credits include American Dreams, Cold Case, Charmed and The Guiding Light. At present, she is part of the series Ugly Betty where she plays Amanda.

Amanda is the receptionist at MODE. She is so involved in fashion that she reads magazines all day long. Aside from this, she is an aficionado when it comes to shoes. She constantly updates her collections and throws a pair of shoes every three days. She aspires to marry a duke someday.
