Ana Ortiz was born on January 25, 1971. As a child, she wanted to be a ballerina, but after an injury, she decided to aspire for something else. She attended Fiorello H. LaGuradia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she graduated. Her TV credits include NYPD Blue, Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, and Boston Legal. Currently, she portrays Hilda Suarez in the TV show Ugly Betty.

Hilda Suarez is Justin 's mother and Betty 's sister. This former Miss Teen Queen enjoys a good sale and going to the salon.
