One of the most remarkable things about
Ugly Betty is its ability to snag the best actors and actresses to appear as guest stars on their show. It makes the series more memorable and pretty much drags in more viewers and fans.
Ugly Betty is continuing its success, bringing in the actress who played the gutsy heroine of
Hairspray, Nikki Blonsky.
Blonsky has just earned a Golden Globe award for her film role, and now she's taking over the small screen. She signed on for a guest spot on the ABC series, playing a character named Teri. Sources reveal that Teri is an assistant at the Mode rival company, Elle. Despite that, she bonds with Betty (
America Ferrera) over their shared experiences in life. However, this could spell disaster for Betty since she's not sure if Teri has an ulterior motive.
Though no official airdate has been set for the episode, it's possible that it would be released before the end of 2008. This marks Nikki Blonsky's first project on a television series. She did star in a Lifetime movie called
Queen Sized though, which aired earlier this year.
Since Blonsky won't appear on
Ugly Betty that soon, we'll have to make do with tonight's episode. Titled “Crush'd,” Betty decides to work overtime to capture the attention of her neighbor, Jesse (Val Matt Emmich). But it might not be as easy as she thought, since Amanda (
Becki Newton) becomes her new roommate. With Amanda experiencing some financial problems, Betty reluctantly tries to lend a helping hand.
Meanwhile, Cliff (David Blue) suggests that he and Marc (
Michael Urie) move in together. Betty's not the only one who finds herself “Crush'd,” as everyone has to face a bit more pressure than usual.
Below is a preview of tonight's episode, “Crush'd,” where Betty gets stuck in a triangle she can't really get out of.
Ugly Betty airs tonight, November 6, on ABC at 8pm.
