So there are only a handful of episodes left before
Ugly Betty departs the small screen, but is it because it's moving on to the big screen? America Ferrera told
Zap2it that even she's hoping for audiences to rally behind the idea. Certainly this would be able to fill in the oncoming void brought about by the show's cancellation.

How to Train Your Dragon (she voices a young Viking there!), she thought it'd be great if
Ugly Betty could benefit from the same exposure. There have been several sitcoms that gained success when turned into a movie, so maybe writers can give the ABC series a shot.
"For me, this character is a transformative character and she's a girl who owns her skin and her body and her womanhood, her confidence and her career," America Ferrera exclaimed. But for her and us, Betty's journey doesn't stop there.
"I'm happy with the way it turned out," she went on. "And hopefully the fans will want more and they will come back and see
Ugly Betty: The Movie and we can see what life after the show brought for this character and all these characters that the audience is in love with."
We wouldn't dare say no to that. Right now though, Betty on the big screen is still just an idea. Like the series' lead actress, we can only pray for this to become a reality.
"Hopefully, in couple of years that could be real," Ferrera said. "I think that would be wondeful and I think our audience would love it. But we'll see."
Well, it's not like the actress has millions of other projects lined up for her. She even wants to take a break for herself now that Ugly Betty has been axed. According to her interview with
PopEater, she's going to be "sleeping and doing laundry."

Ugly Betty movie will definitely be a welcome endeavor. Then again, why don't we see the finale first?
