Ana Ortiz's Baby is the 'Ugly Betty' Mascot
It's easy to coo at children, and the Ugly Betty stars are no exception to falling for the charms of an infant.  Series star Ana Ortiz who gave birth to her first daughter about a month ago was back on the set of the hit ABC show, and everyone was thrilled to see her.  And the baby, of course.

On an interview with People at the Fitness Mind, Body, Spirit Games in New York City, the 38-year-old star revealed how her daughter Paloma enamored her co-stars at one glance.  According to Ortiz, her kid's "like a little Ugly Betty mascot."

While it looks like another failed romance is in store for her character Hilda on the show, Ortiz's real life is certainly looking up.  With the help of her daughter, she'll be more inspired to take on the upcoming season of Ugly Betty.  That goes for her fellow actors as well.

"Everybody is constantly popping into my room to pick her up or talk to her," Ana Ortiz went on.  "She has this whole other family at [the show], and it's great."

Aside from having her daughter on-hand, there's also one thing she can't leave behind.  Ever-present on the Ugly Betty set is her breast pump.  "That's a horrible thing to say, but besides my mother, it's a must-have because if you've got a boob full of milk, you've got to get it done," she said, laughing.

It might distract the members of the show's crew though, but they hardly mind.  "The team will be, like, 'Uh, Ana, do you need a break?' And I'll be like, 'What are you guys looking at?!'"

Perhaps bringing babies on the set is working for the stars of Ugly Betty, especially since producer Salma Hayek brought her own daughter Valentina way back.  "I think she set the bar," Ortiz exclaimed.  Well, it's surely going to aid Hilda in becoming more motherly, if she isn't already.
