UFC: Shamrock Eyes Return, Dana White Says No
Ken Shamrock, whose once apt nickname “The World's Most Dangerous Man” is a remnant of the past, has made his desires to return to the UFC be known.  In an interview last week, the Mixed Martial Arts legend, 43, said that his representation had been negotiating with UFC President Dana White over a possible return to the Octagon.  Shamrock has lost his last four UFC fights (three in a row to Tito Ortiz) and six of his last seven overall.  Although most fans believed that Shamrock had more or less retired, Ken makes is clear that he certainly has not.

"I had a couple of bad fights and some in the UFC thought that was that. I never made a comment I was retiring. Don't judge me on one guy,” says Shamrock.

Unfortunately, it looks as if of Shamrock's talk of negotiations with the UFC is blatantly false.  Dana White wants nothing to do with Shamrock, whose UFC contract was terminated with one fight remaining.  White says:

"I like Ken Shamrock.  If I saw him tomorrow, I'd say hello to him and see how his family is and everything else. He needs to think about retiring.  He lost to Tito Ortiz three times.  He lost to Rich Franklin, who's a 185-pounder."

With Dana White being a man of his word, it's safe to say that UFC fans will almost certainly never get to see Ken Shamrock fight in the Octagon again.  This is a good thing.  It's sad to see once-great, now past-their-prime fighters unable to let go of their former glory.  If they can't stop themselves from getting pummeled, someone else (like Dana White) needs to step in.

In other UFC news, White says that he wants to get Chuck Lidell back in the Octagon in November.  No word on who his opponent would be.
