The Ultimate Fighter 7: Episode 12 Recap
In the last episode of The Ultimate Fighter, Jesse Taylor beat Tim Credeur in the first semi-final match.  So, it was much to my surprise when tonight's season ending episode of The Ultimate Fighter literally began with the final semi-final fight between Amir Sadollah and CB Dolloway.  This was especially jarring, given that The Ultimate Fighter was set to run for a super-sized 90 minutes tonight.  Well, UFC president Dana White had some surprises in store for viewers tonight.

Amir admits that he's the underdog in the fight.  CB is not going to underestimate Amir – he knows that being cocky can lead to upsets.  The winner fights Jesse Taylor on Saturday.

Amir Sadollah vs. CB Dolloway

Round 1:

The fighters circle each other, CB landing some punches.  Amir lands a high kick to the chest, but CB slams him to the ground.  CB takes top position, but Amir holds his own.  CB attempts some serious ground and pound, but doesn't connect much.  It stays this way for awhile – CB on top, not landing much, Amir fighting on the ground.  Amir gets it to feet with about two minutes left, fires some punches, but CB quickly gets it back to the ground.  The last minute features a lot of rolling around.  Amir looks pretty gassed.

Round 2:

Amir tries to keep on feet, and even lands a few nice kicks, taking CB down with one of them.  CB recovers quickly, and brings Amir back to the ground.  Amir starts bleeding from above the eye, thanks to the incessant ground and pound.  Amir is doing his damnedest to get up off the ground, but CB simply will not let him.  The ref stands them up with a minute to go, and Amir lands a couple of punches and kicks.  CB bull rushes and takes it back to the ground, when the round ends.

Round 3:

Amir rushes CB, lands a punch and a flying knee, but he came to fast.  CB is able to grapple and eventually take it to the ground.  Amir fights and fights, trying to get up.  And then....wow.  Amir wriggles out of a rear naked choke and gets CB in an arm bar.  The ref calls the fight.  It's over.

Huge upset.  Amir was an absolute warrior and, though he kind of got lucky, he could've quit a million times but he didn't.

However, this is not the end of the episode.  Dana White explains that after The Ultimate Fighter stops filming for the season, he takes them all out Vegas for dinner and a night on a town.  Four or five guys decided to stay in Vegas for an extra night.  That second night, Dana was called by a Palace Station Casino security person and was given a security tape.  We see a limo drive up to the hotel at 3am.  Jesse Taylor kicks out the window to the limo and acting line an insane person, apparently terrorizing ladies, and then when security showed up, Taylor kept barking “I'm a UFC fighter.”

Dana brings Rampage and Forrest back to see the video, and then they bring Jesse back.  Dana tells Jesse that he's not ready to be in the UFC, that he's not famous yet, and he can't have people in the UFC who act like this.  Dana kicks Jesse out of the UFC.  Jesse is, obviously, ridiculously devastated.  Dana tells him to figure his shit out, and to call him back in a few months.

Since Jesse is now out, they decided to bring back the two semi-final losers.  Tim Credeur will fight CB Dolloway.  Big second chance for both guys.  Dana also brings Amir back to watch the fight between CB and Tim.  Not sure if Amir is happy about this or not.

CB Dolloway vs. Tim Credeur

Round 1:

The entire round was spent on the feet (aside from the thirty or so seconds in the final minute), and was just a barrage of punches from both guys.  Really – they both made a lot of contact, landed punches and kicks.  Not sure who to call the round for.

Round 2:

CB gets Tim on the ground early, but Tim gets back up quickly, no damage done.  Tim slips, and the two get in a stalemate, but Tim eventually stands back up.  Tim is bleeding from the nose.  CB unleashes a bunch of punches, and wails on Tim.  It looks like the ref might call the fight, but Tim fights on, despite being severely beat up.  Tim lands a few punches of his own later, astonishingly.  They spar, and it goes back to the ground.  But then the round ends.  That round definitely went to CB.

Round 3:

CB lands a couple punches early and then takes it to the ground, albeit briefly. Tim is good at getting back to his feet. They spar for the better part of the next two minutes, no one connecting anything significant.  CB then brings it back to the ground.  Tim gets back on his feet, no real harm done, with two minutes left.  Again, it's back to the ground with 90 seconds left.  And, again, Tim gets back on his feet.  With 45 seconds left, CB takes it to the ground one last time, and that's how we end the fight.

Damn good fight.  The first round was incredible.  CB, I though, definitively won the second and third rounds so I'd give the fight to him.

CB Dolloway wins in a unanimous decision.
