Tonight we got another Ultimate Fighter episode with two fights, and you know what that means: the fights are short.  That's right, the two fights this week are both extremely short and extremely one-sided.  No worries, because they are both somewhat entertaining.  Before the fights however, we have brief bit of madness that, really, I didn't understand one bit.

After Emerson's loss last week, Dana White pulled BJ Penn into his office for a little talk.  Dana gives BJ an earful about taking control of his team and that he needs to lead them.  BJ seems to take it to heart, maybe too much so, because the next thing we know, he has called a meeting with his team.

Out of the blue (at least for us viewers), BJ kicks Andy Wang off the team.  Why?  Apparently, Andy hasn't been listening to BJ and hasn't given his full 100%.  This could be true, for all we know, but Andy is shocked, especially when told to leave the gym.  This leads to Dana White being called down to the gym to assess the situation.  He says this has never happened before, but you can't randomly kick a fighter off your team.  Dana talks to Jens about the possibility of taking Andy on his team and Jens in turn asks his own team about it.  They all love Andy, think he's a great guy, so Jens and Dana go to tell Andy the good news.

Weirdly, Andy is at first reticent to join Team Pulver. It's hard to tell why, because he makes no sense.  In the end, he joins the team, but it takes a verbal beating from Dana White to motivate him. 

The fights are announced.  The first is Wayne Weems for Team Pulver vs. Gray Maynard for Team Penn.  The next fight is Marlon Sims for Team Pulver vs. Matt Wiman for Team Penn.

Wayne Weems was characterized earlier in the season as the worst fighter on either team.  This was the absolute truth.  Weems heart was in it, and he's obviously a tough guy, but his technical skills are far below those of his fellow fighters.  Gray Maynard seems to be a consummate professional fighter, although it was hard to tell in his fight with Weems since it was so short. 

Gray gets Weems on the ground with in a few seconds, takes a little time to position himself above him near the fence, and then proceeds to wail on Wayne's face for about two minutes until the referee stopped the fight.  That was it.  Weems did his best to cover his own face up, but to no avail.  Decisive TKO for Gray.

The next fight is between the 33 year old Marlon Sims and the 23 year old Matt Wiman.  Marlon's calling card previous to his fight have been his ridiculously embellished stories about himself.  He's claimed to be in street fights where's he's taken ten guys at once, that he smashed through the windshield of a car that hit him, etc.  Basically, Marlon is a big talker.  Matt was tired of it.

Within seconds of the first round of the fight, Wiman catches Marlon with a shot to the face, and Sims hits the ground.  Wiman pounces, gets position, hits him a few times times, and then slips his arm under Marlon's neck and chokes him out.  Literally.  Marlon drops unconscious and the fight is stopped.

So, a pretty good night for Team Penn, and next week we begin the quarterfinals.
