Paul Georgieff appears as one of the competing fighters in the Spike TV network’s mixed martial arts contest reality series The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra. He is 24 years old and has an MMA record of 7-1-0. Georgieff is a native of St. Paul, MN, though he has undergone most of his training in Madison, WI. At present, he is studying to earn a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He thus splits his time between his academic pursuits and his time in Las Vegas competing for the crown of The Ultimate Fighter.
Georgieff is an alumnus of the St. Paul Academy, where he graduated from back in 2001. He showcased numerous athletic talents by earning varsity letters in tennis, alpine skiing, and football. Georgieff has faced Twins All-Star veteran and catcher Joe Mauer during his high school football days. Once he finished his studies at St. Paul, he began considering an interest in MMA through judo training, though he also headed off for higher learning at the University of Vermont. He majored in math there, along with minors in physics and art, while simultaneously training in kickboxing, wrestling, and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
