Jared Rollins appears as one of the competing fighters in the Spike TV network’s mixed martial arts contest reality series The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra. He is 30 years old, and has an MMA record of 8-3. Rollins is a native of Long Beach, CA, though he has undergone most of his extensive training in Irvine, CA. As he grew up in Southern California, he excelled as an athlete in three different sports during his high school days, and later went on to attend Chapman University in Orange County with a football scholarship.
At the university, when Rollins was 22 years old, he trained and studied Jiu Jitsu under veteran fighter Carl Gracie. He has been described as a natural athlete as well as a fast-paced and quick learner, participating in the 2002 World Championships after only three years of intense instruction. Rollins eventually earned a B.A. in Advertising from the university, but decided that he wanted to focus on his interest in mixed martial arts instead. Among his objectives during the course of the show is to further develop his physical conditioning, as well as to improve his combat methods and make them more technically sound.
