Ben Saunders appears as one of the competing fighters in the Spike TV network’s mixed martial arts contest reality series The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra. He is 24 years old, and has an MMA record of 4-0-2. Saunders is a native of Orlando, FL, and he has also trained extensively in his own hometown. Aside from his respectable record of six professional fights so far, he trains together with the famed American Top Team of combatants. His earliest exposure to martial arts discipline and training when he was younger were the Jeet Kune Do concepts and techniques developed by Bruce Lee.

Later on, Saunders learned about the UFC back in 1993, through an ad page in Black Belt Magazine which endorsed mixed martial arts as well as the UFC organization. He was almost instantly converted into a fan, and strongly wanted to be like his favorite UFC fighters. During the course of the show, Saunders intends to further develop all of his techniques and combat skills, though his main focus is on his striking abilities and his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has also stated that he believes living together with the other fighters may grow wearisome, but the hardest part of all is being away from their families and friends.
