Billy Miles, a 29-year-old from California, didn't enjoy a whole lot of screen time on
The Ultimate Fighter 6. After three episodes, viewers probably would admit that they don't really know who Billy Miles is. The impression I got was that Billy is a hard worker, a dedicated fighter, and an all-around good guy who gave it his all when he could. While the favorite going into his Ultimate Fighter bout, which aired last night, he was beaten by the older
John Kolosci via guillotine choke. Everyone involved seemed to agree that Miles did not fight anywhere near up to his ability. Billy agrees. Miles was kind enough to speak with us this morning about how he got started fighting in Mixed Martial Arts, his experience on the show, and what his plans are for the future.
Below you will find the full mp3 audio of the interview.
Billy was a really easy interview, a nice guy, and you could tell he was being completely honest. The highlight for me, and something I whole-heartedly agree with, was his take on the extensive footage regarding Joe Scarola on the first three episodes of The Ultimate Fighter 6. Bill felt that Joe's whiny attitude and need to leave the house got far too much screen time, taking away from other, more interesting stories within the house.
Billy makes no excuses for his loss to John Kolosci, but does admit that cutting as much weight as he did took a toll. He was forced to drop twenty pounds in two days, which is just a miserable task. As for the future, right now Billy is just hoping that he gets a spot on the fight card for the upcoming Ultimate Fighter finale.
