
The fifth season of
Two and a Half Men will open with Jake gearing up for his first day of Junior High School. His well-meaning guardians, father Alan and uncle Charlie, try to help him prepare for the special day, but their good intentions are marred when they end up potentially traumatizing him.

Two and a Half Men is an Emmy-nominated comedy series that stars
Charlie Sheen as freewheeling bachelor Charlie,
Jon Cryer as Charlie's twice-divorced brother, Alan, and
Angus T. Jones as Alan's son, Jake. The cast also includes

This year,
Two and a Half Men received five Emmy Award nominations. Sheen and Cryer were nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Supporting actor, respectively, while Ferrell and Taylor received nods for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Most notably, the series was the only traditional three-camera sitcom that was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series.
The new season of
Two and a Half Men will usher in another milestone for the series. The 100th episode will be the third to air from the upcoming season, and during the network's Monday Night Lineup Premiere Party on Wednesday, September 19,
Marin Hinkle, who plays Alan's first ex-wife, Judith, explained the details of Melanie Lynskey's comeback in the milestone episode.
In the previous season, Melanie Lynskey's character, Rose, known popularly for being Charlie's stalker, bid farewell to Charlie in order to go to London. When Rose returns, Hinkle said Charlie will realize his true feelings for Rose.
"He goes to seek her out to tell her how he feels about her, and there's a surprise to how she handles it. I'm sure she will back for many episodes. The way they left it had a wonderful dot dot dot,” Hinkle said.
Other celebrities set to guest star this season is
Saturday Night Live alum Janeane Garofalo, Ming-Na Wen (
ER) and Robert Wagner.
The fifth season premiere of
Two and a Half Men airs tonight at 9pm.
