The highly anticipated sixth season of Two and a Half Men premieres tonight, exactly five years after the first episode of the series initially aired.  The sitcom revolves around a freewheeling bachelor named Charlie whose carefree lifestyle is interrupted when his newly separated brother Alan moves in, along with Alan's son Jake. Despite the complexities of their lives and their own strained relationship, they manage to create a family unit that promises to make each of them a better man.

Read on for a preview of sixth season opener of Two and a Half Men.

The first episode of season 6 called "Taterhead Is Our Love Child" finds Charlie as he encounters a former lover whose son bears a striking resemblance to him.  As expected, this will pose all kinds of paternity-related anxiety for Charlie, who prides himself on being the number 1 bachelor in Malibu, which should be fun for fans of Two and a Half Men.

The series stars Charlie Sheen as Charlie Harper, Jon Cryer as Alan Harper, Angus T. Jones as Jake Harper, Conchata Ferrell as Berta, Holland Taylor as Evelyn Harper, and Marin Hinkle as Judith Harper, among others.

Joining the main ensemble on tonight's episode is Rena Sofer, who guest stars as Charlie's ex-girlfriend.  Sofer is perhaps best known for her role as Lois Cerullo, a role she played on General Hospital from 1994 to 1996 and won her a Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series."  Her other TV credits include Melrose Place, The Chronicle, Ed, Friends, Blind Justice, 24, and Seinfeld.

Additionally, Martin Mull, whose credits include Roseanne, Sabrina, the Teenage W.tch and Take This Job and Shove It, also guest stars.

Don't forget to catch the sixth season premiere of Two and a Half Men tonight at 9pm ET/PT on CBS.
