Since my last
Twilight roundup a couple of days ago, it feels that so many things have happened. Yes, I skipped it yesterday because I was busy with other stuff and there wasn't really much to write about, except perhaps for the casting of Jodelle Ferland as Bree--which she was asked to keep secret, oddly, until everyone else figured out who she is based on the way she described her character. Oh, and my little mea culpa: after I wrote that roundup, I saw another photo confirming that it is Rob and Kristen. So, were they kissing? No time for that--
Eclipse has begun shooting, three months after New Moon wrapped up.
And that's exactly why I feel a little rushed. If you've been reading some of my stuff over the past few months, you'd know that I've been feeling a bit bad for the film series' cast, because they don't really get that much of a break from being their respective characters, thanks to Summit's plan to release the
Twilight films within less than a year of each other. They do need their breaks, and the few breaks they get, we get photos. Like, you know, those "smooching" photos at a Kings of Leon concert?
Anyway, the biggest story at the moment is, of course,
Eclipse starting production. Somehow lost in the bubble--somehow--is the addition of BooBoo Stewart as Seth Clearwater. And I say it's somewhat lost because I've been Googling his name and all I see are stuff about
Eclipse starting production. Either I haven't been searching well all day, or the news really came out of nowhere. But that's just me complaining.
So, BooBoo Stewart. He's 15, he's appeared in a handful of obscure films, but you might've seen him in
Dante's Cove and
Everybody Hates Chris. Here's a photo from two years ago, just in case he still doesn't strike a chord:
Should I have chosen the photo where he gives a karate kick?
He's pretty lucky to get his big break on
Eclipse, I say, much like most of the franchise's cast, of course barring the big names that have been wheeled in (dare I mention Bryce Dallas Howard again?). Same goes for Jodelle Ferland, who's playing Bree, as I said earlier. Same goes for Julia Jones, who you'll probably recognize for her short role in
ER. Most importantly, there's Xavier Samuel, who's playing Riley--I have a feeling he'll be as famous as Taylor Lautner already is.
But, of course, there are the others--Rob and Kristen and the clan and the wolf pack and the Volturi. Can I just suggest a breather? I still think the Twilight train is going too fast. I think everyone can wait a little longer, but since
Eclipse is set for June next year, well, there's nothing we can do about it.
Breaking Dawn? There's an opportunity to give everyone some space. Thank you.
