This is one of those moments when a pretty small news item would make so much of a deal for you
Twilight fans:
Eclipse has a start date for shooting.
ComingSoon.net reports that the third film in the
Twilight saga will kick off shooting in Vancouver on August 17, and it'll go all the way until October 31. That's enough time to squeeze the story that you all know it--of Bella having to choose between Edward and Jacob just as life gets more complicated and dangerous. Also, you all probably know that
30 Days of Night's David Slade will be directing this thing, with Melissa Rosenberg doing the script like she always has.
And, of course, you know that
Eclipse will hit screens on June 30 next year, which is a few months away from
New Moon's release on November 20. I just realized
Eclipse will dawn on us--pardon the pun--in slightly under 365 days from now. That's got Chris Weitz directing.
I've always been a little worried about the very fast pace of production for the last two
Twilight films, especially if you throw in the CGI--I wasn't really impressed with the way Jacob as a werewolf looked. And yet we get these films within seven months of each other, and sure, you'll enjoy, but I'd still like my breathing space, thank you.
Oh, but at least you'll get more glimpses of those folks shooting, too. And then we start the cycle again: new cast members, old rumors, you know...
