Take the BuddyTV Personality Quiz: Which Battlestar Galactica Character Are You?

Aaron Douglas as Galen Tyrol

Aaron Douglas was born on August 23, 1971 in New Westminister, British Columbia, Canada. As a young boy, he told his parents that he wanted to become an actor, but as he grew older, displayed great skills in the hockey rink. When he was older, he reaffirmed his desire to pursue an acting career, to the chagrin of his parents, who wanted him to take the civil service exam and take up a profession in the public sector. Nevertheless, he went after his dreams, and began performing with his rock band, TRC, in high school.

Eventually, Douglas enrolled at the William Davis Center for Actors Study, where he met Garry Davey, who was the school’s artistic director at the time. Davis urged him to continue with acting, and after one year with the school’s full-time program, he found proper representation. In 2000, Douglas made his television debut on a production called The Inspectors 2: A Shred of Evidence. From there, he worked his way through several series, including Cold Squad, Hollywood Off-Ramp, Dark Angel, Smallville, Stargate SG-1, The Outer Limits, Taken, American Dreams, Breaking News, Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, Just Cause, Black Sash and Jeremiah.
Currently, Douglas is known for his role on the re-imagined sci-fi series, Battlestar Galactica. He plays Chief Petty Officer Galen Tyrol, and he has been giving life to the said character since the show debuted as a miniseries in 2003. His subsequent television credits include The Chris Isaak Show, The L Word, Andromeda, Saved! and Whistler. Douglas has also been seen on the big screen, with movies such as Man About Town, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Little Things, Final Destination 2, Stealing Sinatra, White Noise, Catwoman, I, Robot, The Chronicles of Riddick, Walking Tall, The Lizzie McGuire Movie and X2 under his belt.
