The second season ender of True Blood has left fans somewhat divided, with some fans describing the conclusion as predictable and a huge letdown while others thought that it was a satisfying ending to a bunch of loose ends. On the other hand, one thing fans are unanimous about is the anticipation of season 3, which is likely to kick off next fall, around the same time it did this year. Until then, we’re left with bunch of cliffhangers, including the mystery surrounding Sookie’s nature, Sam’s quest for his real parents, and Tara dealing with the aftermath of Eggs’ death.

Luckily, True Blood series creator Alan Ball has shed light on some of the mysteries that have been haunting fans.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!!!

What the hell is Sookie?

She’s not entirely human that’s for sure. Ball won’t tell exactly what she is but assures fans that it will be revealed next season. “Sookie has a stronger genetic predisposition in another direction. People who have read the books know exactly what I’m talking about. People who haven’t, it will be revealed,” Ball explained. Meanwhile, Sookie being beyond human poses the question of whether she and Jason have the same parents. But Ball says they do and hints that maybe Jason “has a trace of some non-human stuff” as well.

Will Sam finally meet his parents?

Ball says we will meet Sam’s blood relatives though shape shifters aren’t the only ones we meet this season. There’s also super bad vampire Franklin Mott, Debbie Pelt and werewolf Alcide.

Now that Eggs is gone, will love finally be in the cards for Jason and Tara?

That’s a big possibility since Jason is going to be consumed with guilt for shooting Eggs and he’s going to feel like, “I’ve ruined her life and I’ve got to make her feel better.” But we all know that Tara hasn’t exactly been lucky when it comes to love so getting into another relationship might not be on top of her list this season. On the other hand, Ball says she might also be more vulnerable to his charms more than ever.
