Those of you hoping for more of Alcide and his dad in True Blood season 6 will get your wish. According to Deadline, Robert Patrick will be a series regular for the show's upcoming sixth season.

True Blood is available on Amazon Prime.

Patrick appeared in three episodes of season 5 as Jackson Herveaux, Alcide's surly dad. The season ended with Jackson joining his son to confront J.D., resulting in J.D.;s death and Alcide taking over as packmaster.

Most recently Patrick starred in ABC's Last Resort, but its cancellation has freed him up for the True Blood promotion.

In addition to Patrick, True Blood season 6 will feature several other new series regulars, including Rutger Hauer as the ominous vampire Warlow and British actor Rob Kazinsky who will play Ben, a faerie who, like all men, is drawn to Sookie.

True Blood season 6 will begin in the summer of 2013.
