has always offered something fascinating each week but I never thought the series could get any better by a long mile. Tonight's episode is extra special, in part, because it changes the playing field for the rest of the episodes of season 2. After all the juicy stuff that happened last week
, expect some major changes to take place as friendships are cut off and new alliance are forged.Warning: Spoilers ahead!!!
Before anything else, let's recap: After Eric's arrival at the church compound, Godric orders Eric to save himself and Sookie, while avoiding human casualties. But when a lynch mob headed by pastor Steve blocks the gates, Eric decides to give himself up in hopes of saving Sookie and Godric. Bill and Jason eventually save the day, leading Godric to put Jason in favor with the Dallas vampires. Realizing Eric's intentions towards Sookie, Bill demands Eric to leave her alone from now on. Lorena, on the other hand, harasses Sookie, who discovers it was Lorena that kept Bill from saving her. Back at Sookie's house, after gorging themselves on Maryann's hunter souffle, Eggs and Tara suddenly turn violent. At the party, Luke calls for the attention of the vampires of Area Nine and opens his jacket to reveal a suicide bomb. The episode leaves viewers in a cliffhanger as Luke pushes the detonator.
Tonight's episode kicks off shortly after the big explosion. I won't tell who lives or dies but the repercussions allude to even more shocking storylines. In Dallas, Eric and the vampires defend their recent actions to Nan Flanagan, and are stunned when Godric decides to take the fall for their PR disaster. When Sookie and Jason reflect on their recent adventure, they end up bonding at the feuding Newlins' expense.
Blaming Eggs for Tara's bruises and bizarre behavior, Lafayette and Lettie Mae team up to figure out a way to release Tara from Maryann's clutches. On the other hand, Hoyt defends his relationship with Jessica to Maxine, which proves to be unsuccessful, and Maryann becomes increasingly obsessed with Sam, who finds another way to escape jail.
Meanwhile, the most interesting fragment of this installment revolves around a wounded Eric who plays Sookie for a fool, much to Bill's dismay, and ends up getting inside her head. Consequently, "Sookie will be planting her luscious lips all over Eric's hard body," according to Entertainment Weekly
's Michael Ausiello.
Now that's something you shouldn't miss.
