Little is known about Eric, the vampire portrayed by Alexander Skarsgard, who recently made his debut on HBO's True Blood, except for the fact that he is the oldest and most powerful vampire in Area 5, the territory that includes the small town in Northern Louisiana where Sookie (Anna Paquin) lives.  Further into the season, viewers will learn more about the mysterious being that has certainly added spice to the paranormal drama.

But for those who can't wait, read on for spoilers.

“Eric is the sheriff of Louisiana, Skarsgard told of his character on True Blood.  “That means he's the oldest vampire there, and he's the boss of all the vampires, including Bill [Stephen Moyer].  Eric's also a businessman—he runs a club in Shreveport called Fangtasia, and he makes a lot of money by inviting tourists to his club.  They get to drink and watch live vampires, and he gets to take their money."

With the addition of the gorgeous vamp in the picture, many can't help but think that something is bound to happen between Eric and Sookie, who might eventually get caught in a long-running love triangle.  Skarsgard remains tightlipped about it but he does hint that there's definitely a spark between the two.

"I think when Eric meets Sookie, there is something about her that catches his attention—there's something different about her.  He can sense it, but he doesn't know what it is.  He wants her to come back and then when he finds out she's telepathic, he realizes that's something he can use to his advantage because she's with Bill and he's Bill's boss, so he can basically tell Bill, bring her over."

To find out more about Eric, Sookie, Bill and the rest of the characters, catch True Blood every Sunday at 9pm on HBO.
