American actor Matthew Bomer was born on October 11, 1977 in Spring, Texas. He is the son of former Dallas Cowboys pro football player John Bomer. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, he moved to New York and began pursuing a career in acting, starting out in onstage productions. He later on landed roles in television series such as
All My Children ,
Guiding Light , North Shore,
Traveler , and
Chuck . He also appeared in the films Flightplan and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and was originally director Brett Ratner's favorite choice to play Clark Kent for the movie project that would eventually become Superman Returns. Aside from acting, he also enjoys baseball, tennis and playing the guitar in his spare time.
Luc Johnston is played by Matthew Bomer in the Fox network's supernatural drama series Tru Calling. He works as a photographer, and is Tru's love interest. However, they broke up when Tru couldn't answer his questions on why she was always leaving unexpectedly and abruptly, and why she seemed to keep vanishing at a moment's notice. He suspected she was constantly hiding something from him, and thus ended the relationship.
