American film and television actress Eliza Dushku was born on December 30, 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts. The daughter of a school administrator and a university professor, she was raised in a family of Danish and Albanian heritage, as well as a believer of the Mormon faith. However, her parents divorced when she was just a baby. She was scouted out by casting agents at the age of 10, and began appearing in films such as This Boy's Life, True Lies, Race the Sun, Bring It On, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. She is also well-known for playing maverick vampire hunter Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Her recent screen appearances include guest roles in Ugly Betty and That 70s Show, the lead in the unsuccessful pilot Nurses, and films such as Sex and Breakfast and Bottle Shock.

Tru Davies is portrayed by Eliza Dushku in the Fox network's supernatural drama series, Tru Calling. When she was 12 years old, Tru watched her mother get murdered by a mysterious hit man, and afterwards she and her siblings were abandoned by their father, left orphaned and alone. As an older young woman, Tru works the night shift at the city morgue, and is often approached by freshly dead corpses who reawaken and plead for help in being saved from death. She then has the strange power to go back in time to the beginning of the day and try to prevent the deaths from occurring.
