John Barrowman is showing no signs of slowing down.  Over the next few months, the 41-year-old actor will be releasing his new album “Music Music Music,” work on another season of the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood and star in a new primetime Saturday night entertainment program, a la The Sonny and Cher Show.

Just like his Captain Jack character on Torchwood, which was created for him, Barrowman's new BBC light entertainment show is also designed around him. The pilot has already been filmed and features song, dance and some audience participation, similar to that of the Donny and Marie Osmond Show.

But while Donny and Marie's variety show, which aired on ABC from January 1976 to May 1979, was deemed wholesome, Barrowman's new program is anything but.

“Not wholesome.  God, don't say wholesome.  I'm John.  I'm not wholesome. I'm mischievous. I'm naughty. Please,” the Torchwood star said in an interview with the Mail Online.

For now, Barrowman is working hard nonstop but he doesn't forget to reward himself every once in awhile.  In fact, he buys himself “a little something” – perhaps a Rolex here or a sports car there – when he completes every job.

“I work hard for everything I have, and I like to remind myself of that. I like to say, Torchwood, Series 2, got me this.  Phantom got me that. M aria got me that. I guess it's become a bit of a tradition,” he said.

Meanwhile, fans can catch Barrowman on the third season of Torchwood, which starts airing next year.  The new season is called Torchwood: Children of Earth and will run as a single five-episode story arc as an alternative to the usual 13-episode run.  It will follow the Torchwood team as they go on a single action-packed voyage to battle for the future of the human race against the most wicked force they have encountered.
