Rick Bayless, the chef who won on the third episode of Top Chef Masters, apparently found a way to communicate with his potentially growing fan base, thanks to, what else, Twitter. The Chicago-based chef-testant recently discovered the micro-blogging site, and revealed that after his victory Wednesday on the Bravo reality show, he sent a heartfelt Tweet to those who supported him.
"A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who sent congrats on tonight's Top Chef Masters win. Wish I could respond to each of you but am a little overwhelmed by response. Thank u, thank u!! Will be posting more tomorrow w pics."
Bayless, who emerged victorious over Cindy Pawlcyn, Ludo Lefebvre, and Wilo Benet on the
Top Chef upgrade, advanced to the final stages of the show thanks to the victory. Benet won the quick fire challenge on the episode, the first time that there's a different winner for the two challenges.
"It just happened. I had to watch it with blogs because I was overwhelmed sometimes by blank pages. But with Twitter and its 140 characters, and pictures -- I loved it!" Bayless said. "I thought, 'That's what I want to be able to do.' So much cool stuff I've always wanted to share in a quick and easy way."
Bayless is the owner of Frontera Grill, Topolobampo and the soon-to-open Xoco on Clark Street in River North. His address is Twitter.com/rick_bayless.
