It had been a fairly long time since Michael Voltaggio was crowned Top Chef and Kevin Gillespie was named this season's fan favorite, not forgetting the $45,000 worth of quickfire earnings - not bad for a third place finish - but people still probably remember the I-make-Kevin's-food-in-my-day-off comment from Michael. What exactly does Kevin have to say about this?

"I actually texted him," he tells E! Online, "and asked what we were having for dinner on his next day off. It doesn't really bother me. I'm not one who has issues of confidence."

Now you Top Chef fans wonder why he was voted fan favorite? He also talked about this outpouring of support after the Bravo cooking show, including a woman who broke being a kosher for the first time in her life just to eat at his Atlanta restaurant, Woodfire Grill.

"I think it's because I make food that can be sophisticated, but it's also food that you want to eat."

Can a Bravo or maybe Food Network show be next? He said it'd be a cinch, since he loves being in front of the camera.  "I never really did this to be a celebrity by any means. On the other hand, I really wanted to make a difference, and I wanted people to hear the message that I had about food."

It can be a bacon-centric show or something. But seriously, throughout this season of Top Chef, while Kevin has received criticism that his food had been on the safe side, he had shown impeccable technique, something that brought him to the very end with the very talented V brothers.
