It's another season of Top Chef
, and this time the Bravo cooking show heads to our nation's capital to pick the next, well, Top Chef
. Following last season's clash of the V brothers (remember them?) and bearded Kevin, 17 new chef-testants will try to impress the judges to win the whole thing.What's Cooking on 'Top Chef' This Season?
As it is set in DC, this season of Top Chef
will feature the town's top names, including astronaut and Dancing with the Stars
alum Buzz Aldrin, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Assistant White House Chef Sam Kass, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock, Virginia Senator Mark Warner, CIA Director Leon Panetta and NBC White House Correspondent Savannah Guthrie.

The first quickfire challenge is a mise en place relay, with potatoes, onions, chickens and on the final leg, use the ingredients to prepare a dish as determined by Tom Colicchio and Padma Lakshmi. Other challenges moving forward include taking over the concession stands at the Nationals stadium, going inside CIA's closely guarded headquarters and receiving orders from a NASA astronaut orbiting the planet.
Among this season's notable contestants include Michelin chef Angelo Sosa, plus a couple of DC natives, Oval Room sous-chef Tamesha Warren and Timothy Dean.
Eric Ripert of New York City's Le Bernardin restaurant joins Tom and Gail Simmons on this season's judging panel. The Top Chef
will receive $125,000, a feature in Food and Wine magazine plus a showcase at the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen.
