Double the elimination, double the fun? More like double the panic as Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars has its first double elimination of the season. Who are the unlucky and/or unloved couples? Keep reading to find out!
Because this is, in fact, Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars
, it could be any couple that goes home. High scores, low scores, it doesn't matter. All of this is based mainly on the vagaries of the TV-watching public. And who knows what they like?
At least I do know what I like! If you want to know what I like too, check out the performance rankings from Monday night's show.
Feel free to disagree if you like. Just be nice about it so my fragile little ego does not come crashing to the ground like a Shawn/Derek big finish.
We can at least make some guesses about who is in the most danger by taking a look at the Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars week 3 leader board:1. (tie)
Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy -- 271. (tie)
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani -- 273.
Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough -- 26.54. (tie)
Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel -- 25.54. (tie)
Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd -- 25.54. (tie)
Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff -- 25.54. (tie)
Helio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower -- 25.58.
Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke -- 259. (tie)
Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy -- 249. (tie)
Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya -- 24 11.
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas -- 22.5
But those are just statistics. It's much more accurate to go with our guts! And our guts seem to think, according to this week's BuddyTV Readers' Poll
, that Bristol and Mark are the most likely to go. That couple was chosen as the candidate for elimination by 56 percent of readers. A close second to that was the pairing of Drew and Anna -- 32 percent of readers picked them as the most likely to go.
Who will the two unlucky couples be? Let's find out...
Oh right. They're also picking each others' dance styles. That should be interesting.
In a move that is no surprise to anyone except Dancing with the Stars
' insurers, the encore dance is the wild and crazy and nigh-impossible quickstep from Shawn and Derek. Still an incredible dance.
But for now, we get the first RESULTS
of the night.
The couples learning their fates right away are Melissa & Tony, Gilles & Peta, Kirstie & Maks, and Emmitt & Cheryl.Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani are SAFE!!!
Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd are SAFE!!!
Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke are SAFE!!!
andKirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy remain in jeopardy.
We can't possibly move on after this, so the show doesn't even bother. Instead, we are magically transported to a Las Vegas lounge. This involves a singing performance by Frankie Moreno, accompanied by dancing from Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer.
You know, I still want Kyle Massey to have been on Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars. I guess this is some consolation.
Next up for RESULTS
, four more couples reluctantly head to the stage: Shawn & Derek, Apolo & Karina, Drew & Anna, and Kelly & Val.Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough are SAFE!!!
Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff are SAFE!!!
but...Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya remain in jeopardy.
while...Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy are SAFE!!!
Whoa. Wait. We're getting final results already? Seriously? This is a weird result.ELIMINATIONS
This comes down to a losing contest between Drew & Anna and Kirstie & Maks.
And...Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are SAFE!!!
Which means...Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya have been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars!
That was fast. I guess we'll have to wait until the end for the other elimination. That makes sense.Next Week's Dance Styles...
OK... Some of these aren't even ballroom dances. Like hip hop and contemporary and the like.
- Bristol and Mark pick Bollywood for Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd.
- Kirstie and Maks pick Disco for Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel.
- Helio and Chelsie pick Mambo for Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough.

- Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas get Rock and Roll by default...
Josh Johnson, a dancer from Harlem attending Penn State University, who makes his tuition money by tap-dancing on subway trains. That's way cooler than the various acts I used to see on the New York subway.
Anyway, he's dancing on Dancing with the Stars now.
Next up, we have a performance by the singing duo, Carmen. Apparently, they were really big online and are now mainstream-ish. S'OK.
Are we actually to the final RESULTS? Yay!
Sabrina & Louis, Helio & Chelsie, and Bristol & Mark are up.
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are SAFE!!!
Cue the angry comments...
Whatever. We have two more results to give...
Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel are SAFE!!!
Which means that
Helio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower have been eliminated from Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars!!!
So that's that. How do you feel about tonight's double elimination? Did the right couples go home? Should someone else have gone? Why do you think the results went the way they did? Leave your comments below!
