Ever since his exposure on Bravo's competitive reality series, Project Runway, Tim Gunn has made a name for himself as a fashion guru, not just for the contestants of the show but for men, women and gay people as well. In fact, he'll be putting out a Man's Guide to Style in addition to his own show Tim Gunn's Guide To Style.

Although his present focus is to address the concerns of women, the 54-year-old television personality also acknowledges the fact that there are also men who are in need of his guidance.

“The heterosexual community's the one that needs all the help. I'm not saying that there aren't gay men who do too.  But, I mean, who are the style setters?  We know,” he told AfterElton.com

“What we choose to wear sends a message about how we want the world to perceive us.  And I think the only way to do that successfully and to navigate the world comfortably is to be confident about what you're wearing and to feel that you look good.  And I'm hoping that it's through interaction, engagement with other people that they'll understand other dimensions of you.  But if you look good – whatever that means, and it can be different for everybody – then you'll have carriage and bearing and the confidence to own the world in a manner of speaking,” he added.

Because of his efforts in the fashion industry, many gay men are continualy approaching him and showing their gratitude for being a visible role model.

“And I just take it as the greatest compliment in the world,” Gunn said.

As for his new show, Tim Gunn's Guide To Style, which airs tonight, September 6 at 10/9c on Bravo, he'll be helping regular women find their personal style with the use of tools and pointers from his latest book, Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style.

"I want every woman to achieve her style zenith," Gunn said.  "Looking good takes hard work and commitment, but this series makes it fun.  Each of the women I worked with discovered their own signature look, with a little coaching.  My hope is that we'll inspire others to achieve their own stylish identities."

As the star of Guide To Style, the network has great confidence that Gunn will be able to successfully pull off the new makeover show.

"If anyone can redefine the meaning of makeover, it's Tim Gunn," Bravo's executive vice president of programming and production Frances Berwick said.  "This series is unique and relatable.  Viewers will learn from Tim and Veronica as they usher women with serious fashion issues through transformations both inside and out resulting in a renewed confidence and a personal style that they personally believe in."
