She was the brave soul who underwent the televised makeover at the hands of Tim Gunn and his “fashion accomplice” Veronica Webb. Luckily for Rebecca Pennino, her time on Tim Gunn's Guide to Style wound up being a wonderful and transformative experience for her. She recently blogged about her time on the show for Bravo.

She says it wasn't just a stage gimmick, but truly was a surprise when she got the news that Tim Gunn and Veronica Webb were about to show up at her apartment. She said the producer of Tim Gunn's Guide to Style had to tell her “No Becca, we seriously need you and Brooke to run....Tim and Veronica will be there.”

And when they did arrive, their first order of business was cleaning out her closet, a cathartic experience she highly recommends. She writes, “It was like I had a 200 pound emotional weight lifted off of me. I recommend that everyone clean out their closet once a year. It is so amazing to start all new again. The feeling that every time you look in your closet you know it is filled with clothes that look good on you is priceless.”

She has high praise for the two at the heart of Tim Gunn's Guide to Style. She writes, “Veronica was like a big sister to me…Tim Gunn is the most amazing man I have ever met. I just want everyone to know that. He is so genuine and it was an honor just for me to be around him. He will always have a place in my heart.”

She says the ring her husband gave her reminds her always of that experience, and specifically of the moment that she had her big reveal to friends and family. “[T]hat moment my life changed. I looked around the room and everyone was crying tears of joy. It's a moment and a feeling I will never forget.”
