Sharon Newman is currently one of the core characters of The Young and the Restless. She's been a very busy woman these days ---she has a baby on the way though it is unknown whether the father of her baby is ex-husband Nicholas Newman, present husband Jack Abbott, or Jack's brother Billy Abbott.

According to Sharon's portrayer, Sharon Case, who won a Daytime Emmy for her Young and the Restless role in 1999, Jack being the father of her baby seems like the most sensible assumption. After all, Jack is still Sharon's husband and has already made a magnanimous offer to raise her unborn baby.

"Jack has been a super dude to her, saying and doing everything she always wanted. He makes her a really good offer to raise the baby, and they are still married. It makes sense to let Jack be her husband if he is willing to do that, and not tamper with Nick and Phyllis," Case said.

However, Nick will always be Sharon's true love and when he says his marriage to Phyllis is over, all bets are off.

"Sharon wants Nick more than anyone, but only under certain terms," the Young and the Restless actress said. "Only if he's done with [current wife] Phyllis and in love with Sharon. Then, Sharon wants to be with him."

"That throws everything into a spin again," Case added. "Sharon is, like, 'Now, what?' She has to make the decision all over again because she has new information."

Recently, Sharon got a shocking proposal from Nick as well as a kiss in the middle of the Restless Style newsroom, where Phyllis works as editor.

"The minute she decides she'll stay put, he says he has made up his mind and he's done with Phyllis," she said. "And then he kisses her! Nobody sees, because there's nobody there, for some reason. They used to cover all the scandals, but they miss this one. I guess the magazine hasn't been doing too well since Sharon left."
