Concerned about Heather (Vail Bloom), April Stevens arrives back in Genoa City in the form of Rebecca Staab. As previously reported, the former beauty queen has land landed the role of Paul William's (
Doug Davidson) ex, and Heather Steven's mother, and will appear on
The Young and the Restless on Friday, January 11 and on Monday, January 14.
Staab started out playing roles of a young punk rocker on
Loving and a clean teen on
Guiding Light. But ever since she landed the role of Elizabeth Barrington on
Port Charles, casting people have now attached the mommy role to the 46-year-old soap veteran.
“I never played a mom before until
Port Charles, then all of a sudden I was the mother of a 21-year-old. I never had a child so it's kind of funny. But there's always this through line with those roles that I have to take as a compliment and that it's at least a "hot mom." I also played a mom on a
CSI and then I had this commercial for a men's body spray where I was hitting on my teenage daughter's boyfriend,” Staab told
Soap Opera Digest.
In addition to
The Young and the Restless, where Staab enters Genoa to also hopefully ease relations between Heather and Paul who are struggling to overcome the pain of their long-term separation, Staab will also featured two upcoming projects expected to come out this year.
“It's called
All Ages Night… a little independent film that I think will get a lot of attention…and it's about two days that this one band goes through to make it to their big night. I play a mom,” she said. “I've been working a lot. I just wrapped a pilot for Benjamin Bratt's new show on A&E called
Cleaner where I play his hot-to-trot neighbor. It's really funny, which I like.”
