As reported previously, The Young and the Restless will be celebrating 35 years on the air on Wednesday, March 26.  At the same time, viewers will be getting a treat in the form of a storyline that revolves around Restless Style Magazine, which will allow the soap to revisit some of its past and reintroduce some familiar faces.

First up on the nostalgia road trip is former cast member Michael Damian, who announced on his personal website that he is reprising his role as Danny Romalotti.  Damian will be resurfacing the canvas after over three years since fans last saw him on daytime television.  Damian is slated to make his return today, though there is no word yet on how many episodes he will tape.

With the return of Danny Romalotti, producers of The Young and the Restless have unsurprisingly approached Lauralee Bell, who previously portrayed Danny's former wife Christine Williams, about a possible return to the show.  Bell, the daughter of Young and the Restless creators Bill and Lee Phillip Bell, first appeared on the show in 1983.  Since 2000, however, her appearances have been more and more sporadic as the actress had focused more on raising a family than her television career.

While the show is planning to bring back several former cast members, it will also continue its crossovers with sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful.  Emmy winner Lesli Kay will appear as Bold and the Beautiful's Felicia Forrester in April, a move that is likely to become semi-permanent. Felicia's storyline on The Bold and the Beautiful has all but dried up, but to keep Kay under contract to the soap, executive producer Bradley Bell has decided to loan the actress to The Young and the Restless until he finds a way to reintroduce her to The Bold and the Beautiful canvas.

"Of course this is all still dependent on whether or not the crossover sparks with [the] audience. The Young and the Restless, which boasts more hunks than they know what to do with, needs her sex appeal, and her talent will fit right in," an insider said.

Additionally, Bold and the Beautiful's Tracy Lindsey Melchior is also expected to crossover to The Young and the Restless.  According to insiders, Melchior, who is known for her role as Kristen Forrester, had "a very strong audition" for the role of Erin, described as a woman who will fill out the young adult set.
