The Young and the Restless: January 21 Live Thoughts
The Young and the Restless begins for another week, and Sharon (Sharon Case) and Jack (Peter Bergman) are still on their Bahamanian getaway.  They have just gone swimming in the ocean with dolphins, and are now back in their hotel room to dry off and get dressed.

Meanwhile, back in Genoa City, Victor (Eric Braeden) is sadly awaiting his divorce hearing at the GCAC bar.  David Chow (Vincent Irizarry) watches him warily from across the room.  Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is visiting Reed in the hospital.  The nurse even lets her hold him.

In the Bahamas, Jack and Sharon continue to act lovey-dovey.  They wish they can freeze time and stay there forever.  Jack is scoring lots of points for creating a romantic atmosphere for Sharon.

At the coffeehouse, Amber (Adrienne Frantz) squeals to Daniel (Michael Graziadei) about how excited she is that her secret alter-ego Maryna made the semi-finals for the Faces of Jabot contest.  Amber reminds him that he lost their bet, so he has to be her personal assistant for the week.  She makes him call the entertainment editor of the Genoa City newspaper to schedule an interview.

Nikki finds Victor outside of the hearing room and asks him if he can forgive her and take her back because she doesn't want to go through with the hearing.  He gives her a hug.  Victor's lawyers show up and lead him into the room.  Then David arrives to give his support to Nikki, even though she asked him to stay away.  She makes him stay outside, though.

"Maryna" and Daniel go to the GCAC to meet Ed the Editor for her interview.  "Maryna" tells him that she's already a successful business woman, but she decided to enter the contest because of love.

In the tropics, Jack and Sharon order burgers and fries from room service.  He's trying really, really hard to make sure that Sharon is having a good time, and she reassures him that he doesn't have to try so hard because she is having a great time.

Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) have ordered in some food and rented a bunch of DVDs.  They are back at his house, and he pops in Casablanca.

Victor speaks up at the beginning of the hearing and asks the judge to stop the hearing.  Nikki's words out in the hallway seems to have made an effect.

"Maryna" makes up some hooey about how she entered the contest to run away from love.

Sharon finds out that Jack told the hotel that they were newlyweds because they never had a real honeymoon.  Sharon is touched.  Jack wants to start with a clean slate after they leave their tropical paradise.

Cane and Lily have finished watching the movie and start making out.  Lily gets kind of worried because she's never been with anyone since she divorced Daniel.  He promises that he won't do anything she doesn't want him to, but, oh, she wants him to.  Uh oh, Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) and Jill (Jess Walton) walk in on them.

I guess the hearing is still going on.  I'm a little confused because now Victor is complaining that Nikki cheated on him.  I guess he didn't have a change of heart after all.  Then, Nikki gets her turn talking.  She says that she never considered his money when she married him.  She was in love with him.  But then, she realized that she was just a commodity to her.

Lily apologizes for embarrassing Kay and Jill, but the two old broads take it gracefully.  They congratulate her for becoming a semi-finalist in their contest.  Cane and Lily decide to go down to the club for dessert.

The Young and the Restless is quite steamy today.  Down in the Bahamas, Sharon and Jack get down and dirty, accompanied by some rockin' soprano sax music.

Cane and Lily go down to the club and find "Maryna" and Daniel still there.  The reporter asks "Maryna" where she grew up, and there are holes forming in her story, left and right.  Golly, Genoans must be a foolish group of people not to buy this "Maryna" bit.

Jill is worried that Lily might fall harder for Cane than he wants her to.  Kay, on the other hand, is more worried about Amber.  She thinks that Amber is far more naive than Lily is.

The judge explains that Wisconsin has no-fault divorce laws.  She rules that Nikki gets her fair share of Victor's money, but full ownership of NVP will go to Victor.  By the way, David has managed to worm his way into the hearing and is sitting by Nikki's side.

Next on The Young and the Restless: Gloria is moving into the GCAC with Jeffrey, Katherine talks to Nikki, David's loan sharks nip at his heels.
