The Young and the Restless: January 10 Live Thoughts
The Young and the Restless: January 10 Live Thoughts
The Young and the Restless continues again today.  Everyone is still at Indigo, including Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman).  Michael is getting nauseous watching Gloria (Judith Chapman) and Jeffrey (Ted Shackelford) getting drunk and carrying on across the room.  However, if you remember from yesterday's The Young and the Restless, Gloria instructed the bartender to make her drinks very, very weak, and to make his triple strength.  Gloria is doing a bang-up job acting drunk.  It's quite amusing.  But as she gets up to kiss Michael good-bye, Jeffrey proves that he's one smart cookie because he switches their drinks.

Outside in the loading dock, Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) are still in mid-liplock.  Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Karen (Nia Peeples) walk in on them, and Neil is not pleased.

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) shows up unexpectedly at the tack house and asks Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) if she can read Summer a bedtime story.  Unfortunately, Summer is already asleep, so the two women bond a little.  Phyllis offers her sympathy for Nikki's rough time these days.  Nikki has a proposition for Phyllis.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) is helping Victor (Eric Braeden) go through some Newman paperwork at Victor's office.  It's getting late and Nick wants to continue the work in the morning, but Victor wants to talk about his police investigation.  Victor is upset that Nikki thinks he might be guilty and asks outright what Nick thinks.

Neil tries to tell Lily that he's worried about her relationship with Cane.  He doesn't trust that smooth-talking Aussie, but Lily insists that he needs to let her grow up.

Gloria seems to getting more and more soused, while Jeffrey is completely sober.  He asks her how many people she stepped on in her climb to the top.

Nikki asks Phyllis to come back and work for NVP permanently.  Phyllis is shocked and flattered, but she has mixed emotions.  Phyllis doesn't want to give an answer until she talks to Nick about it.  Maybe these two will patch things up after all.

Victor gets angry at Nick that he's even entertaining the thought that he might be guilty.  Nick says that he'll support him, even if he is guilty, which serves only to piss off his father.  JT (Thad Luckinbill) comes in to break the tension.

Lily goes back inside to tell Cane what Neil said about him.  Things are not so awkward between them anymore, and actually, I think they are kind of adorable.  Lily goes back to the table with Devon, Roxanne and Alan.  Roxanne suggests that they all go back to the coffeehouse for lattes and dessert, and Lily agrees to join them.  Karen changes back into her regular clothes and apologizes to Neil for not singing tonight.  She also asks him to cut Lily some slack and trust her a little more.

Victor takes JT off the investigation for his lack of loyalty and for confirming Nikki's suspicion that he is investigating her.

Michael and Lauren go home, and Lauren does a little sexy show of undressing him.  Unfortunately, Victor calls him on his cell.  Way to put a downer on things.  Victor needs to see him immediately.

Nick comes home to find that Nikki is there.  They bond over how difficult it is to deal with Victor.

Michael goes over to the Victor's office.  Victor wants an update on the strategy for dealing with police investigation.  Michael isn't happy that Victor is micromanages him.

Cane goes over to the coffeehouse.  He and Lily make moon eyes at each other from across the room.

Gloria and Jeffrey act more and more trashed.  It's hard to say if they are faking it or not.

Lily approaches Cane, who claims that he's really not following her.  He asks her to talk privately in the patio.  He officially asks her out on a date.  She's game, but she wants to make sure that he's not going to change his mind abruptly again, like he did last time.  He promises, and they kiss again.  Amber (Adrienne Frantz) sees them kissing, and starts crying.

Everything is quiet now at Indigo.  Karen sits down at the piano and starts to play.  Neil asks her to sing for him.

Phyllis gets Nick a beer, and tells him that she has her job back.

Michael discuss the surveillance discs with Victor.  He speculates that the police may not have been able to reconstruct everything on them.  All they have to do is raise the possibility that this might have happened, which is reasonable doubt.

Jeffrey brings Gloria to the GCAC, and it looks like she really is drunk.  Jeffrey goes to the bar to get one soda water and one triple-strength drink for Gloria.  He's playing her game better than she is.  JT is also at the bar, and he sees David Chow (Vincent Irizarry) meeting with someone across the room.

Phyllis is concerned that if she takes the NVP job again, she'll have to be away a lot.  She doesn't want to leave him and Summer.  Nick says that she can take Summer with her on her trips.

In preparation for Michael's return home, Lauren has donned a sexy black lace teddy and knee-high boots, and lit a thousand candles around the apartment.  She orders Michael to take his shirt off so that she can massage his back.  Wouldn't it be funny if Gloria showed up just now?

At Indigo, Karen plays the piano and sings for Neil.  She has a very pretty, contralto voice.  Her song provides the soundtrack for Michael and Lauren's lovemaking, as well as Phyllis and Nick's.  (Nick wears tight, black, little boxer briefs!)

Jeffrey takes Gloria up to his room, and she looks like she's going to puke.  Instead, she just passes out.  Downstairs at the bar, JT sees David stand up angrily and walk away from his meeting.

At the ranch, Nikki goes over to tell Victor not to be so mean to Nick.  Victor says that he wants to end up alone, and throws her out.

Next on The Young and the Restless: Gloria is missing, April is back, Sharon is going on a publicity tour and Brad tries to sneak along.
