The Young and the Restless begins again for another week.  Things are still frosty between Sharon (Sharon Case) and Jack (Peter Bergman).  She is still really mad at him, and speaks to him in short, curt words.  Noah (Hunter Allan), however, is blissfully unaware about their marital struggles.

At the GCAC, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) sit down for a meal.  Michael is gloating and joking about Jack's comeuppance, but Phyllis is indignant, since Jack is her friend.

Kevin (Greg Rikaart) is visiting Jana (Emily O'Brien) in prison.  She's freaking out about her upcoming trial.  A very young-looking lawyer who is fresh out of law school has been assigned to Jana's case.  This doesn't fill either Kevin or Jana with a whole lot of confidence.

JT (Thad Luckinbill) goes over to the ranch with pictures of the baby to show Victoria (Amelia Heinle).  Well, to "show" her the pictures, since she is still in a coma.  Victor (Eric Braeden) wants to talk to JT about the baby.  At the hospital, Brad (Don Diamont) tells the baby that he knows he's his son.

Phyllis asks Michael how he knows that the letter Gloria (Judith Chapman) read was real.  Michael continues to gloat and heap negative adjectives upon Jack.

Jack wants to take the family on a trip to France, but Sharon doesn't trust him and doesn't know if she'll be able to again.  She's clearly not happy with him.

The young lawyer hasn't finished going over Jana's case, and gets her name wrong to boot, and leaves.  Jana freaks out that she's toast, since she's got Doogie Howser working on her case.  Kevin offers to hire her a new lawyer if he has to.

Victor sits JT down and tells him that he hopes JT will be the father of the baby.  Victor says that if it turns out that Brad is the father, he'll be very upset and depressed.

Meanwhile, Brad goes to the breakroom at work and sees Sharon there.  Sharon's outfit is really weird today.  She's wearing a mannish plaid shirt.  Isn't she supposed to be a model or something?  She and Brad talk about all of Sharon's problems at home.  She thinks that maybe she put too much faith in Jack and built him up in her imagination.  She realizes that whatever decision she makes about whether to stay with Jack should be made with Noah in mind.

Jack gets coffee at the GCAC.  Phyllis checks her lipstick in the reflection in her knife, and then goes over to talk to her friend.  Jack confides that Sharon might leave him yet.

Brad tells Sharon that he knows that the baby is his son.  But this is only speculation because the results of the paternity test have not come in.  Brad plans to cut Victor out of his son's life as soon as he finds out that he's the father.  He's using the premature infant as a pawn in his feud with Victor--how classy.

Phyllis tries to get Jack's mind off of Gloria by mentioning that she's going to throw Summer's first birthday party soon.  Phyllis thanks him for all that he did to help bring Summer into the world, and her voice breaks a bit as she says so.  She then confesses that she's responsible for John Abbott's letter surfacing because she told Jana about Todd Scheller, who told Kevin, who told Gloria.  Phyllis elaborates that while she was in prison, she talked to John's chaplain and Jana must have overheard.  Jack is clearly upset, but he doesn't blame Phyllis.

Kevin goes to the GCAC to ask Michael to take Jana's case.  Here's another example of funny geography on The Young and the Restless.  Michael has been at the GCAC for as long as it took Phyllis and Jack to have a short friendly conversation, during which time Kevin was at the state penitentiary visiting Jana.  Either Kevin can time warp, or Genoa City is situated right next to the state pen.

Brad tells Sharon that although Jack has his flaws, he's been an excellent step-dad to Noah.  He says that she has to do what's best for her and Noah, and not for Jack.  She is grateful for Brad's support and gives him a hug.  Unfortunately, Jack happens to walk by and see them hugging.  He walks in and blows up at Brad for groping his wife, but then Sharon yells at Jack.

At the hospital, the doctor tells Victor and JT that they would like to run a retinal test on the baby.  They agree.

Michael asks Phyllis what she thinks of Jana Hawkes.  Phyllis says that although she initially thought Jana was creepy, the more she got to know her, the more she thought Jana was a good person.  After her meal, Phyllis heads over to prison to tell Jana about her conversation with Michael.  Jana is so grateful, but Phyllis asks her if she's actually pulling a scam and faking her remorse.  Jana insists that it's not an act.  Phyllis brings the bitch back: she threatens that since she's vouching for Jana, if Jana is lying to her, she's going to sorely regret it.

Michael goes over to Kevin's office and tells him that he's going to take Jana's case.  He warns Kevin that it's a difficult case and there are no guarantees.  Kevin calls Jana with the good news, but Michael looks worried all the while.

Sharon goes home.  Jack wants to discuss the thing with Brad, but Sharon doesn't want to talk about it.  She says she can't live like this anymore.  She wants him to cancel the trip to France, and that's final.  Also, as soon as the holidays are over, she is going to move out.

At the hospital, the doctor has the paternity test results.  She says that JT is the father!!
