The Young and the Restless: December 3 Live Thoughts
The Young and the Restless: December 3 Live Thoughts
On The Young and the Restless today, Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) go over to Kevin's (Greg Rikaart) at the coffeehouse to try to convince him not to marry Jana (Emily O'Brien).  But Kevin isn't having any of it.  He refuses to listen to them, refuses to have lunch with them, and runs off to prison to visit Jana.

At the hospital, JT (Thad Luckinbill) and Brad (Don Diamont) are at Victoria's (Amelia Heinle) bedside, while Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden) are in the hospital nursery, looking at their grandfetus.

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has brought Summer over to the hospital to visit Nick (Joshua Morrow).  Phyllis brought over a strawberry shake, extra thick, with whipped cream from the coffeehouse.  That's really Noah's drink, though, isn't it?  Phyllis does everything she can to reassure Nick.

At the courthouse, it is time for Jack's (Peter Bergman) senate ethics committee hearing.  Sharon (Sharon Case) is upset with him for releasing Ji Min's audio tape to the police.  He tells her that she doesn't have to stay, but she says that she has to.  Gloria (Judith Chapman) and Jill (Jess Walton) are in attendance to gawk at what they hope to be their most hated foe's public humiliation, and also to testify when the time comes.  The hearing is starting when Jack notices John Abbott's ghost (Jerry Douglas) entering the room.  Jack is distracted by him, who is standing with his hand on Gloria's shoulder.  The committee calls for a brief recess; John tells Jack to tell the whole truth, not just the part that makes him look good.

Michael and Lauren have lunch at the GCAC, but they can't get their minds off of Kevin.

At the hospital, Nikki is taking pictures of her grandfetus with her digital camera.  Aren't the Newmans billionaires?  Surely, Nikki would have a fancier camera than that!  Brad comes in to tell her that he asked the hospital to hold off on doing a paternity test of the grandfetus, to allow him to develop and get stronger.

Jill and Gloria scheme about the measures that they can undertake to make sure Jack goes down.  The hearing continues.  It's quintessentially The Young and the Restless, what with all the dry, legal mumbo-jumbo.  The examiner is asking Jack about his acquisitions in the Clear Springs, and against Ben Hollander's (Billy Warlock) advice, Jack gets angry and raises his voice.  He does tend to get defensive, that one.  During another break in the hearing, Sharon and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) discuss how painful the whole thing is to watch.  Jill approaches her old friend Tommy who is on the ethics committee and insinuates that Jack isn't telling the whole truth.  She suggests that she and Gloria should both be allowed to speak.

Jana reports excitedly to Kevin that her CT scan went beautifully.  She doesn't have a new tumor after all, and the little bit of tumor that they couldn't take out during the first surgery hasn't grown or changed at all.  The doctor even says that it most likely won't change for the rest of her life.  The mood quickly turns sour, however, when Jana reminds him that she will soon be convicted of murder and will never marry him.  Kevin objects, saying that she will be found innocent with all the blamed placed squarely on her tumor.

Ben advises Jack to use Ji Min's tape in the hearing, but Sharon tells him strongly not to.  Ben calls Maggie (Tammy Lauren) who is having coffee with Paul (Doug Davidson).  Do they ever do any work?

The investigations questioner asks Jack about his involvement with Ji Min's death.  They play an audio recording of the conversation Ben had with Maggie.  Things don't look good for Jack.  They go to recess, after which Jill and Gloria will testify.

Nick tells Phyllis that they switched the grandfetus to a high-frequency ventilator, which will allow the baby to get more oxygen.  Nick is terribly worried, and Phyllis offers to take him home and rent a movie to get their minds off of everything.

Lauren asks Kevin about how his visit with Jana went.  Kevin says that Jana wants to say yes to his marriage proposal, but hasn't yet.

The Gloria and Jill Show is about the start at Jack's hearing, but Jack isn't allowed to be in the room while they do so.  Gloria's testimony goes first.  Gloria hams it up, quavering voice and all, while she points the finger at Jack.

Kevin shows Lauren and Michael all the research he's done on previous patients of brain tumors.  He's hopeful that Jana will be pull through.

Maggie tells Paul that because of the tape he got from Ben, she can now get a search warrant for Victor Newman.

Jill testifies next.  She makes an impassioned appeal that Jack Abbott is wrong and a travesty.  After her testimony, Gloria approaches Jack and Sharon to gloat.  Daniel reports that their office has been bombarded with calls and emails all day, and the vast majority of the people contacting the office are against Jack.

Kevin tells Michael and Lauren that the odds of Jana getting out of prison are not good, but he's going to make it happen, even if he has to break her out himself.

Maggie goes to the hospital to question Victor.  She feels really bad about questioning him now, but she promises that she'll come back for him later.

Next on The Young and the Restless: Lily is with Cane at a Winters family function, Brad asks Victoria's OB/GYN for the baby's blood type, Dr. Webb advises the Newmans to move Victoria to a longterm care facility.
