Kate Linder, who was born on November 2, 1947, is an actress best known as Esther Valentine on The Young and the Restless, which she played since 1985. She was educated at San Francisco State University where she graduated with a BA in theater. Her other television credits include Archie Bunker's Place and Bay City Blues. She also appeared in the film Rocky III. Aside from her career in acting, Linder is also a Daytime Governor at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS), who is responsible for presenting the Emmys.
Esther Valentine is played by Kate Linder on The Young and the Restless. Esther is Katherine Chancellor's maid who is also a trained alcohol abuse counselor. She was involved in a one night stand with plumber Tiny, with whom she had a daughter with. She was accidentally involved in the death of Rex Sterling, Katherine's husband because she answered a personal ad, thus meeting Norman Peterson. Norman was a notorious con man who later on robbed Katherine inside the estate, and shot Rex in the process. Norman was later arrested and Esther was also forgiven and named in Katherine's will.
