On the June 30 episode of The Young and the Restless, Gloria (Judith Chapman) and Jeffrey (Ted Shackleford) will both head out of Genoa City.  What are they up to?  According to Soap Opera Digest, Gloria and Jeffrey will elope in Las Vegas and Little Richard will be performing on their big day.  This comes as a shocking yet pleasant Young and the Restless news to all those Gloria-and-Jeff fans as the two finally set aside their misunderstandings and declare their true feelings for one another.

Little Richard, also known as Rev. Richard Wayne Penniman, is noted for such hits as "Tutti Frutti", "Long Tall Sally", and "Lucille."  He has the distinction of having been one of the initial seven inductees into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and has also been chosen as the eighth greatest artist of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine.

At the height of his music career, Little Richard started to fear his own damnation so he abandoned rock and roll music to become a born again Christian, in which he was called to be an evangelist. Although his secular music career in the 1950s was rather brief, his impact on 21st century music was arguably unparalleled.  After his spiritual conversion from 1957 to the early 1960s, he recorded only Gospel music, claiming at the time that rock music was of the devil and that it was not possible to be a rocker and please God at the same time.  Two decades later, however, Little Richard finally reconciled his role as a minister and as a rock and roll artist as he recorded an album of inspirational songs for Warner Brother Records.
