David Duchovny drew massive attention for his role as Fox William "Spooky" Mulder on the science fiction series The X-Files. He portrayed a FBI special agent who believed in UFOs and government conspiracies, and focused on mysterious unsolved cases with his FBI partner and closest friend, Dana Scully. Distinctly known for his sardonic sense of humor, he established a trademark with his dry jokes even in the face of the most bizarre and dangerous incidents. Apart from his cynical persona, he was most known for his porn habits, which were recurrently perceived as a joke on throughout the series.

After 175 episodes of The X-Files, Duchovny appeared in television shows like Sex and the City, and had a recurring role on Life with Bonnie as the character Johnny Volcano. He worked on video games, providing voice on The X-Files: Resist of Serve as his notable TV character Fox Mulder, and on Area 51 as Ethan Cole. His flair for voice acting also landed him gigs in the film Queer Duck: The Movie, in the game XIII, and as the narrator of the television series Eco-Challenge Fiji Islands. In the big screen, he became part of films such as Full Frontal, Connie and Carla, House of D, Trust the Man and The TV Set.

Duchovny has just completed a movie entitled The Secret, a horror thriller remake of the 1999 film Himitsu. Cast as Dr. Benjamin Marris, the film is about a story of a mother who passed away, and whose spirit eventually returns to her daughter’s body with a dark secret. Slated for 2007, the movie also stars Lily Taylor as Hannah Marris and Olivia Thirlby as Samantha Marris. The 46-year old actor will also be starring in Things We Lost in the Fire, which will hit the theaters on September 14, 2007. In the drama, he will be playing the role of Steve, joining other cast members such as Halle Berry, Benicio Del Toro, and Alison Lohman. Furthermore, he is also set to appear on the TV pilot Californication, in which he will play the character Hank Moody.
