Born Anne Elizabeth Gishon March 13, 1971 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Annabeth Gish is the daughter of Robert and Judy Gish. During her youth, she had already gone through a lot of acting experience, including her role in the movie Desert Bloom. She was educated at Northern University High School and Duke University. She was cast in the role of Special Agent Monica Reyes in the sci-fi series
The X-Files in 2001, which has now become one of her most well-known roles. In 2003, she made a guest appearance on The West Wing, where she played Elizabeth Bartlet Westin, eldest daughter of President Josiah Bartlet (Martin Sheen). Her latest projects include a role in the independent movie The Celestine Prophecy as well as in the drama
Brotherhood , where she played fictional Rhode Island State Representative Tommy Caffee's wife Eileen.
Monica Reyes is played by Annabeth Gish in the sci-fi series The X-Files. She is an adopted child of her Mexican parents and grew up in Mexico, thus speaking fluent Spanish. She was educated in Brown University where she majored in folklore and mythology. She then enrolled to the FBI at Quantico. One of her assignments was to investigate Satanic rituals. She was moved to the New York City office where she became the head investigator for the kidnapping of NYPD officer John Dogett's seven year old son. After transferring to the New Orleans office and finally to the FBI unit in Washington, DC, she became John Dogett's partner.
