During a conference call with reporters yesterday, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid revealed some details about the upcoming second season of The X Factor. After the departure of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, Cowell and Reid confirmed they are seeking two female judges to replace their seats on the judging panel. Though they would not confirm who, there has been much speculation stars like Britney Spears, LeAnn Rimes and Janet Jackson are interested.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

"It's true to say that a lot of more people have entered the frame this year," says Cowell. "We were waiting to see who was going to contact us before we actually contacted people. We're in that place right now, which is a good place to be in." Cowell also added they will be meeting with different people over the next few weeks.

Continuing the personnel changes this season, Cowell stated they will be replacing host Steve Jones with two hosts, one male and one female, as they've learned the role is too big for one person: "it's impossible to have one person doing a hosting job. You've got to give out so much information now, they're like newscasters now, these hosts. It's a much bigger role, I think there's a fun way to do it with two people. I always wanted a boy and a girl to host the show and I think it's going to happen now."

Cowell also revealed the show is likely to do a Whitney Houston tribute, but that if competitors The Voice and American Idol also choose to pay tribute to the singer, they will have to go about it a different way.

With all this new blood, there is sure to be excitement for the new X Factor season - who would you like to see on the judges' side? Which pair would make great hosts for the show?
