Actress Sonja Sohn, who is part Korean, part African-American, has numerous film and television projects under her belt. She appeared in Bronx County and starred with Samuel L. Jackson in Shaft. She was also among the cast of Martin Scorsese's Bringing Out the Dead. Sonja is best known for her role as police officer Shakima Greggs in HBO's police drama series, The Wire. Shakima Greggs, nicknamed by her colleagues as Kima, is one of the best detectives in the narcotics division of the Baltimore police. She also happens to be a lesbian maintaining a live-in relationship with her girlfriend, Cheryl. Her tough-as-nails attitude in her work managed to change Jimmy McNulty's opinion of female police officers, and soon they share opinions regarding police work, politics and relationships.
