Do not continue reading if you want some element of surprise on The Voice
elimination show. This isn't really a "predictions" article as it is more of what will actually go down tonight, when the Top 5 become three for next week's finale.
The Voice is available on Amazon Prime.
Because three singers landed in the 10 of the iTunes charts -- including one at #1! -- it essentially means those three are guaranteed into the finale show. And there's no last-minute Twitter saves, either. I will be shocked if one of the outside singers makes it through. It's not impossible, but it's extremely unlikely.
The final five charted exceptionally well as a whole, with the lowest-ranking artist at #14. During the Top 6 week, the highest-charting artist was #15, so the fact that everyone from Monday's show is higher than that is impressive.
Here's the breakdown of how the five singers finished by the close of voting at 11am:
#1 Tessanne Chin ("Bridge Over Troubled Water")
#6 Jacquie Lee ("Angel")
#10 Will Champlin ("Carry On")
#12 Cole Vosbury ("Shameless")
#14 James Wolpert ("With or Without You")
This means Tessanne, Jacquie and Will will advance to the finale show.
Cole and James will be eliminated.
Looking only at voting tallies the day after live performances, Tessanne is this season's highest-charting artist. Matthew Schuler held the highest spot after he shot up to #2 with "Hallelujah" during Top 12 week. Tessanne's previous high was at #15 with "Redemption Song" during Top 6 week.
This is the first time Jacquie is in the top 10. Her last highest ranking was #16 when she sang "Love is Blindness" at the Top 12.
Will just barely slipped into the top 10 -- and this isn't even the highest he has charted. His Top 8 performance of "At Last" came in at #8.
As for Cole, his best iTunes positions were for performances before the live shows. His live performances have charted decently, but he's never made it to the top 10, just like James hasn't. Cole's previous high was #13 during Top 8 week with "I Still Believe in You" and his low was just #28.
James, meanwhile, made it to #8 with "A Case of You" way back in top 20. Since then, his highest has been #16 during Top 8 week with "Somebody to Love." His lowest is #58 during Top 12 week with "Mr. Brightside." Obviously, iTunes was kinder to him when we got stripped-down version of James not belt-it-out-to-the-heavens James. Why Adam couldn't stick with that, we'll never know.
The Voice results show airs at 9pm tonight on NBC.
