Tonight is the big night when The Voice
season 5 comes to an end. Jacquie Lee, Will Champlin or Tessanne Chin will be crowned the winner.
The Voice is available on Amazon Prime.
always relies on iTunes rankings to determine who advances, so let's take a look at what the charts can tell us about who will win. Here are the rankings from 11am, when voting closed.
#1 Tessanne Chin ("I Have Nothing")
#4 Tessane and Adam ("Let It Be")
#9 Jacquie Lee ("And I Am Telling You")
#11 Will and Adam ("Tiny Dancer")
#12 Will Champlin ("Everything I Do I Do It For You")
#18 Tessanne Chin ("Try")
#23 Jacquie and Christina ("We Remain")
#33 Jacquie Lee ("Back to Black")
#55 Will Champlin ("Not Over You")
Two of Tessanne's songs hit the top 10, which means her votes get multiplied. She's had a strong finish the last two weeks, having the #1 spot consecutively. Jacquie also manages to slip into the top 10, but will it be enough?
I think it's safe to say Will will come in third place. He was oh-so-close to getting his votes multiplied as well but, unfortunately, is on the outside looking in.
It's not just Monday night's votes that determines the winner, but also iTunes downloads since day one contribute to the artist's total vote count.
Tessane's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" remains strong on iTunes. Its position is currently #19, which means it's higher than two of Jacquie's performances from Monday night and one of Will's. That's ridiculous!
With that in mind, the winner of The Voice will be Tessanne Chin, giving Adam his first winner since season 1, and it will be the third straight female victor. If it's not her, it will be a huge upset, even though Jacquie is also in the top 10. Tessanne has the most iTunes top 10 downloads, and I just don't see how it's possible that Jacquie wins based on other methods of voting.
The Voice season 5 finale airs tonight at 9pm on NBC.
