Tonight, The Voice
will send two more singers packing as the top 10 becomes the top 8. We'll also see Blake and Christina perform with their respective teams.
I predicted that Kat Robichaud, Will Champlin and Ray Boudreaux
will make up the bottom three, and I'm hoping that Will gets the save. If this is the case, The Voice
results haven't been all too surprising. Without anyone cracking the iTunes top 10, I'm ready for a surprise -- like, say, Jacquie Lee in the bottom three. Even if that were to happen, I'm positive she'll win the Twitter war. In a nutshell, I don't think I'll be surprised.
Speaking of Twitter and the Instant Save, West Coasters should check The Voice's Twitter account
at 9:55pm ET/6:55pm PT, which is when the voting period will begin. When they tweet out the bottom three singers, you can either RT any of the three tweets or just tweet the name of the artist you want saved along with the hashtag #VoiceSave.
It's unfortunate that the results are spoiled for the West Coast, but that's the way it has to be.
Now on to The Voice live blog!
Team Christina (Janet Jackson/Michael Jackson Medley)
Of course, Christina needs to have a duet with her mini-me. Look at them, it's like mother and child. In the name of one of the songs they perform, it's baaad. Err, good. Lots of energy. And did you see that diva walk from Christina in the beginning? But I really can't comment on what she's wearing.
Wow! I had no idea where Carson was going when he was rambling to Adam, but he confirms that Adam Levine is People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive! And aww, Blake's even wearing a suit tonight. He'll probably top country music's sexiest or something.
That's a cute pow-wow between all four coaches. It really is nice to have them all back together.
The Results, Part 1
Here we go. The first two singers in the top 8 are James Wolpert and Matthew Schuler!
Last week, James had to sweat it out as he was the very last saved artist called out by Carson. Now, he's the first one, which I'm sure has to feel good.
Then when Carson calls out that the second saved artist is from Team Christina, of course it has to be Matthew. Had it been Jacquie, you would've also known Matthew was going to be saved eventually, so there's absolutely no suspense in that. If Jacquie is saved, she'll probably be one of the last ones called out -- either that or she's in the bottom three. My rationale is that since there's no one else on Team Christina left standing, they'll just wait until the end for her fate.
James, Kat and Will ("Sugar We're Goin' Down" by Fall Out Boy)
Oh, it's the three rockers together. It sounds like it starts off shaky but finishes on stronger footing. But wait, Kat can also play the guitar? Why didn't she bust that out earlier? The only ones we haven't seen play an instrument, by my recollection, are Matthew, Caroline, Tessanne and Jacquie.
The Results, Part 2
America also saves Ray Boudreaux and Will Champlin!
Holy crap! I am officially surprised after saying I didn't think I would be. I put both Ray and Will in my bottom three, and America saved them. This means that one of my definite saves will be in the bottom three. Will it be Jacquie, Kat and Austin, the iTunes bottom three? The results show just got that much more interesting.
Team Blake ("Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top)
Oh, I definitely saw that spit action from Blake. All in HD. These four would make a decent band. More guitar breaks, please. Actually, more Blake please. How about all Blake in this song? I just definitely realized halfway through the performance that this is the reason why Blake is in a suit. Yeah, I'm a bright one, you guys.
The Results, Part 3
The next two singers in the top 10 are Tessanne Chin and Jacquie Lee!
Adam lost one singer in the first live show, but then they've all been moving right on through ever since. And Jacquie? I shouldn't be surprised that her fans came through. This means the bottom three is a combination of Cole, Caroline, Kat and Austin. I'm hoping for Kat and Austin. If it's Cole, I am going to throw a fit.
Caroline and Tessanne ("Royals" by Lorde)
This is actually a song I had been thinking about wanting Caroline to sing, and now she's doing it. This is the perfect song for the both of them together. I'm really digging it.
The Results, Part 4
The ninth singer in the top 10 is Cole Vosbury!
YES. Thanks, America. I owe you one. Poor Cee Lo -- two singers in the bottom three again with the guarantee that one of them will go home. I don't know what else Caroline can really do, so while I love her, I will be okay if she goes home. I still think Kat has more to show. Austin, well, he finally didn't get saved by America.
Okay, here we go everyone. Time to save your favorite singer!
During the commercial break, I checked The Voice Twitter page, and judging by the RTs, it looks like Caroline is running away with the votes. Austin is somewhat of a distant second and Kat hasn't even broken the 10,000 mark. So I'm saying Caroline will be saved.
We're back to the show. Adam thinks Caroline will be saved, and Christina goes the diplomatic route.
The artist who is instantly saved by America is ... Caroline Pennell!
Austin Jenckes and Kat Robichaud are eliminated!
So Blake loses a singer, and Cee Lo's down to one -- the one who had to be saved by Twitter. It's not looking good for his team.
There goes another night of eliminations. What do you think? Are you satisfied? Still loving/hating the Instant Save?
Join us again next week when The Voice top 8 take the stage Monday at 8pm on NBC.
