Welcome to this week's Music Show Battle! Two weeks ago, on a whim, I posted an article about how every single singing show (
American Idol,
The Voice,
Glee, etc)
performed Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" in the same week. The following week
it was Adele's "Rolling in the Deep"
that became the de facto song of the week. It became obvious to me that
this should be a regular feature, since every week at least two shows
use the same song.
Now, it's Whitney's turn. This week
Glee dedicated an entire episode to the music of the late Whitney Houston, including star Chris Colfer's rendition of "I Have Nothing." That came one day after Team Cee Lo singer Cheesa performed it on NBC's
The Voice.
And you don't need to go back too far to see that Whitney's powerful ballad has been a popular choice in the past year. Shannon Magrane covered it during Whitney Week on this season of
American Idol and
The X Factor winner Melanie Amaro sang it on that show before Houston's death.
So I leave it to you. So far
Glee has won the Gotye and Adele battles. Will Chris Colfer make it a three-peat for FOX's musical dramedy, or will
The Voice take the crown? Watch all four versions below then vote for your favorite.
