Rosie O’Donnell’s early departure from The View has left viewers with the question, what’s next for Rosie? The 45-year old TV personality is actually headed for a change in direction with her new endeavor, a rock tour.

O’Donnell, who recently got in a heated dispute with The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on last Wednesday’s episode, has decided to leave the The View prior the expiration of her contract in June. Now, she plans to join friend Cyndi Lauper on a series of dates for Lauper’s rock tour. The tour is set to begin next week.

O’Donnell has been friends with Lauper, who is famed for hits like True Colors and Hey Now (Girls Just Want To Have Fun), for years now, and has even considered producing Lauper’s show for Broadway. In addition, she has already put up a video montage on her blogsite to the recording of Lauper’s “Sisters of Avalon.”

As for the rock tour, the dates on Lauper’s event have already been planned long ago but with O’Donnell’s abrupt departure from The View, O’Donnell added some more.

Lauper’s tour, which is entitled True Colors Tour 2007, will be headlining for Human Rights. The rock tour will also include other acts, which consist of Deborah Harry, Erasure, Dresden Dolls and Gossip, with Margaret Cho as MC. Sponsored by Logo, the MTV Networks channel targeting gay audiences, the tour aims to provide information to fans with the slogan “Erase Hate” from the Matthew Shepard foundation. A dollar for every ticket sold will go to the Human Rights Campaign for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
