Is Katherine dead on The Vampire Diaries? No! Not yet at least. On the season 5 winter finale, Katherine collapsed from what looked like a heart attack, but it didn't kill her. In "500 Years of Solitude," she's still alive, but not doing well.
When The Vampire Diaries returns from its hiatus with its 100th episode, Katherine's predicament isn't the only situation up in the air. Elena and Damon will be dealing with the aftermath of their break up.
Caroline Dries told TVLine
, "The fun of the 100th episode is we pick up the day after this happened. We see how they're both handling it. It's a fun introduction to the show."
Delena fans, don't fret! Dries continues, "They just had a big blowout fight/break-up. But we have to see going forward, the next time they're in the same room together, how they deal with it."
With Katherine on her death bed, their relationship woes may take a back seat for now. Check out the "500 Years of Solitude" preview.
What's the worse thing that Katherine has done? The list is pretty bad!
"She fed me to Silas and I died." - Jeremy
"She tried to kill me ... at least twice." - Elena
"She did kill me." - Caroline
Will Katherine escape death? Or, will her centuries of life finally come due and kill her? She can't be turned in a vampire due to the Cure. Her only hope may be to take Nadia's suggestion and use the traveler dagger.
Whose body would she possess? Would you want to see Katherine in a different body? What if she took over Elena? Crazy, right? We only have a month to wait.
The Vampire Diaries returns on Thursday, January 23 at 8 pm ET on the CW.
