The complicated war games on The Vampire Diaries are about to get even complicated-er. With the shocking return of Elijah at the end of the last episode, there are multiple motivations and vendettas that need to get squared away.

In this new clip from the next new episode, "Bringing Out the Dead," Damon and Stefan discuss the next step in their plan to take down Klaus. Damon naturally thinks bringing Elijah back was a stroke of genius, but Stefan is understandably worried since the last time they trusted him, it didn't work out so well. In fact, since there's never any way of telling what an Original will do, adding one more to the chess board will definitely confuse matters.

Damon thinks it's easy, that they can stall Klaus long enough to let Bonnie and her mom open the mysterious fourth coffin and use whatever is inside to kill Klaus. But as if dealing with Klaus and Elijah wasn't bad enough, Damon also realizes that his kiss with Elena might also be the reason his brother is so snotty.

Also, any scene that opens with a shirtless Stefan getting dressed has to be good. Enjoy.

There have been plenty of fake truces formed before, and Damon should be smart enough to know that his plans never go off perfectly. But still, the scene of Damon, Stefan, Klaus and Elijah all sitting down for a meeting will certainly be one of the more entertaining moments of the series.

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday at 8pm on the CW.
